About the Seminar On behalf of its Board of Directors, the Federation of Associations of Regulatory Boards (FARB) is pleased to announce its 18th Annual Attorney Certification Seminar in Professional Regulatory Law (ACS). The seminar begins on Friday, October 1, 2010, and continues through the morning of Sunday, October 3, 2010, covering numerous topics related to regulatory law. The seminar will feature presentations by a variety of experts of administrative law and will include an analysis of current legal issues that impact regulatory boards and their attorneys.
Course Content Attendees at the FARB ACS 2010 will participate in sessions addressing contemporary issues impacting the legal representation of regulatory boards. The 2010 ACS Friday Focus will feature an in-depth analysis of recent cases that are directly linked to professional regulatory law. Additional sessions include an exploration of citizenship requirements for licensure, scope of practice, legislative sweeps, expert witness, discipline and sanctions, an update on the HIPDB, and a discussion of legal issues related to advertising in the 21st Century.
In addition, the FARB ACS 2010 will feature its popular presentations of New Legislation Impacting the Regulatory Community and Top Recent Regulatory Cases.
Location FARB goes to Washington! The 18th annual Attorney Certification Seminar will be held at the Hotel Palomar Washington DC located in Dupont Circle. This vibrant neighborhood features museums, ethnic restaurants, unique bookstores, historic homes, and Washington’s largest concentration of private art galleries. The National Geographic Museum and The Brewmaster’s Castle, a late 19th-century Victorian mansion with a period garden, can be found nearby. Dupont Circle is also close to Georgetown with its trendy restaurants, designer stores, and cool bars. Catch some late-night blues or jazz in a nearby club. If solemn and stately is more your style, visit the numerous monuments and memorials to be found in our nation’s capital. Indulge your taste for adventure at the International Spy Museum. Stroll through the collections of the Smithsonian Museums along the Washington Mall to learn something new. If you’re on a budget, explore your wild side at the National Zoo or enjoy the fall foliage at the National Arboretum for free. The Hotel Palomar is a pet-friendly hotel and offers a nightly complementary wine reception in the hotel’s living room so you can meet up with old friends and new acquaintances.

Fees Registration fee is $675.00 U.S. and includes daily breakfast, two luncheons, and meeting materials provided at the meeting either electronically on a flash drive or on paper. Please indicate your preferred method of receiving materials on your registration form.
Please forward the registration fee to FARB as soon as possible. If the fee is not available at the time of registration, it may be sent in later or paid upon arrival at the seminar.

FARB has reserved a block of rooms at the Hotel Palomar Washington DC specifically for ACS attendees, yet rooms sell out quickly and may be sold out before the deadline. Please make your hotel reservations promptly. Please refer to the FARB group when making your reservations to ensure you get the reduced room rate of $189.00 per night.

Credit Card Payments FARB currently accepts Visa and Mastercard credit card payments only. Online registrants may pay by credit card (VISA or MasterCard). Please Note: The credit card payment option will only be available after July 12, 2010, due to our merchant account restrictions.
