About the Forum

On behalf of its Board of Directors, the Federation of Associations of Regulatory Boards (FARB) is pleased to announce its 35th Annual Forum. The forum begins on Friday, January 28, 2011, and continues through the morning of Sunday, January 30, 2011. The forum will feature presentations by a variety of experts on current issues that impact regulatory boards. Board members, administrators, executive directors, attorneys, investigators, and staff are invited to attend this informative event.

Course Content

Attendees at the FARB Forum 2011 will participate in sessions reflecting on current events that affect regulatory boards. Speakers and attendees will thoroughly examine the legal and practical issues of articles, stories, and opinions about regulation and professional regulatory board matters featured in print, online, and in other news media. Sessions will be general in topic yet will address specific events, incidents, and points of view about professional regulation in relation to education, exams, new initiatives and technology, and discipline. Audience participation is encouraged.

The FARB Forum 2011 will also feature its popular presentations of New Legislation and Top Recent Regulatory Cases.

Location

Here’s to a big time in the Big Easy! The 35^th Annual FARB Forum will be held at the JW Marriott Hotel in downtown New Orleans. This hotel close to the French Quarter is perfectly positioned for attendees to visit popular destinations like New Orleans’ newest attraction, the Audubon Insectarium with its serene Japanese butterfly garden, or head to Bourbon Street for some late-night fun. Explore the rich history of this nearly 300-year old city with a walking Haunted New Orleans tour or stop in St. Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square, the oldest cathedral in the United States. Or, for a more solemn visit, focus on recent history with a Katrina Education Tour or go to the Aquarium of the Americas to learn about Audubon’s wildlife rehabilitation and wetlands efforts and see how you can help Louisiana recover from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Don’t neglect to round out your trip with some great New Orleans jazz, blues, or zydeco at Preservation Hall accompanied by some Creole fine dining in the French Quarter. Fees

Registration fee is $545.00 U.S. for FARB members and $645.00 U.S. for non-members and includes daily breakfast, two luncheons, and meeting materials provided at the meeting either electronically on a flash drive or on paper. Please indicate your preferred method of receiving materials on your registration form.

Current members who wish to register online MUST contact FARB via e-mail at forum@farb.org before registering to request a coupon code to use for the discounted member fee.

Please forward the registration fee to FARB as soon as possible. If the fee is not available at the time of registration, it may be sent later or paid upon arrival at the seminar.

FARB has reserved a block of rooms at the JW Marriott specifically for Forum attendees, yet rooms sell out quickly and may be sold out before the deadline. Please make your hotel reservations promptly. Please refer to the FARB group when making your reservations to ensure you get the reduced room rate of $130.00 per night.

The hotel reservation deadline is Monday, December 20, 2010. Hotel reservations made after this date are subject to availability and rate increase.

FARB currently accepts Visa and Mastercard credit card payments only. Online registrants may pay by credit card (VISA or MasterCard). Please Note: The credit card payment option will only be available after November 5, 2010, due to our merchant account restrictions. Please register early to ensure your participation in this event.
